Marie Starek
The founder
Marie Starek was born in Paris in 1986. As a child, her family called her Madame Bijou: Marie felt that the human body simply did not have enough fingers for all the rings she loved. She began her career as an assistant stylist at the Marie Claire group. She then became a fashion editor for magazines including Elle and Cosmopolitan, while also providing styling and image consultancy for advertising campaigns and fashion lookbooks.
In 2009, Marie turned her obsession into a profession by creating the fine jewellery and accessories section of a women's magazine, with which she worked for more than 10 years. The desire to embark on her own adventure was never far away. Notebooks filled with ideas, screenshots, moodboards… yet she never took the plunge. But two children later, a change of life, new aspirations, a need for freedom and a fresh challenge led her to make the bold decision to launch her own brand.
And so, in February 2021, the brand was born, along with collection 01.

My first customers are my friends. They test the cords while running, surfing and going about their lives. Their jewellery goes everywhere with them and develops a patina over the years. It is the best quality control I can imagine.

What is the difference between everyday jewellery and fine jewellery?
Marie Starek's everyday jewellery is designed to accompany daily life. Natural stones, crystals, vermeil, gold-filled metal and gold-plated brass draw inspiration from antique jewellery and coins. Each creation is carefully crafted to become a meaningful piece, to wear again and again.
Our fine jewellery brings together exceptional pieces in yellow or white gold, sometimes set with diamonds or designed around unique antique coins. Precious jewellery, made to stand the test of time and tell a story of its own.
Where do the antique coins used in your creations come from?
The antique coins used in some of our creations are carefully selected and sourced from numismatists, specialists and collectors of antique coins.
Each coin bears the marks of its history and the passage of time. These distinctive features are part of its character and make every piece of jewellery unique.
